Today, Eric and I went and dropped off Daxton to my mom & dads house and went down to our 20 week ultrasound appointment! I can't believe we waited until 20 weeks to find out, but we did! I could've put money on it that we were going to be expecting the word girl, but to our surprise its a BOY! Truthfully, I was a little shocked at that statement. I have thought from day 1, when we found out that we were expecting, that it was going to be a girl. From horrible morning sickness to craving salads, to dreams about one little girl with brown hair.... I guess she is coming later! It's a boy and we are over joyed. Even though I was shocked, I am also very relieved. No having to go buy all new pink clothing (yes, I am sad and happy about that) but we are definitely relieved to think that we already know how to handle a boy. In turn Eric is stoked. He says that he will now have a quarter of a soccer team to cheer on. :)
On the other plus side. Baby boy #2 (and no, we have NO IDEA what we will name him.), is healthy and doing very well. Right on track for 20 weeks, and couldn't be any cuter. :) Today Eric and I had a kick in the hiney reminding us that this little one is soon coming and that it most definitely is REAL. While viewing the ultrasound screen seeing the little one squirming around, I kept thinking, "wow, the human body is an amazing thing... This little one is really in there and will be coming out to meet us one day!".
Overall, having had troubles getting pregnant, Eric and I feel truly blessed that the Lord has entrusted us with this little guy and we sure feel blessed to be able to have children. It truly is the most amazing thing to me that our bodies are able to create other bodies. Such a wonderful blessing we have on earth. And what trust the Lord has in all of us!
Here's to our new baby BOY!
